• House of Hope Spirituality Center recently opened at 1017 W. Garland Ave. and is operated by Sarah Davis-Bennett. The center offers a variety of teachings and services, including Centerism Gatherings on the first and third Sundays of each month at 10 a.m.; Over 40 Women’s Elder gathering at 1 p.m. Wednesdays; and Meditation, Manifestation and Healing group at 7 p.m. Wednesdays; medicinal herb class at 1 p.m. Thursdays; and Tarot gathering/class at 7 p.m. Thursdays. Space at the center is available for rent on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.

• Country Homes Christian Church, 8415 N. Wall St., recently held it’s annual men vs. women Food Fight collection drive with the men collecting 3,100 pounds and the women collecting 1,520 pounds, for a total of 4,620 pounds of food. The prize is that the losers fix dinner for the winners at a future date. The food donations benefit Caritas Outreach and the Mead Food Bank and the community they serve.
