Ramirez throws well again but Mariners fall to Texas
Colby Lewis threw five scoreless innings for the Texas Rangers in a 5-3 win over the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday.
Mariners starter Erasmo Ramirez held Texas to one run and three hits. The right-hander walked none and struck out six in five-plus innings and now has a 1.14 ERA in six spring outings.
The Rangers scored four times in the sixth after Ramirez was replaced by Charlie Furbush.
Justin Smoak hit a two-run home run for the Mariners.
Forbes ranks the New York Yankees as baseball’s most valuable team for the 17th straight year.
Forbes said it estimates the Yankees are worth $2.5 billion, up 9 percent from last year. The Dodgers are next at $2 billion, a 24 percent hike and matching their actual sale price in 2012. Boston was third at $1.5 billion. At the bottom are the Tampa Bay Rays at $485 million. The Seattle Mariners are 12th on the list at $710 million.
