LC’s Pate nearly perfect in victory
Lewis and Clark senior Karver Pate couldn’t have come any closer to perfection in the Tigers’ 6-0 baseball win over host Mead on Friday.
The left-handed senior gave up a walk with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
He got the next hitter out and settled for a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts. He also led Lewis and Clark at the plate with two hits and two RBIs.
It was Pate’s first win of the season. He started for the Tigers in their season-opening win over Chiawana, but earned a no-decision after giving up two runs in four innings.
