Obituary: Irish, Edna
Age 87
Edna was born on October 18, 1926, in Drake, ND, one of 14 children of Fred and Katherine Walz.
She had three brothers and 10 sisters, many of whom preceded her in death.
She came west where some of her sisters had come before her.
She lived for a while in Seaside, Oregon, and later came to Spokane.
It was here in Spokane that she met and married Donald Irish.
She lived and worked in Spokane and later moved with her husband and family to Colfax, WA.
Most of her working experience was in banking, first with the Old National Bank of Spokane and later with U. S. Bank, working there for a total of 36 years, retiring in 1990.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, in 1998 and is survived by two sons, Douglas Irish in Las Vegas, NV, and Steven Irish in Seattle, WA; two daughters-in-law, Diane and Joan; and two grandchildren, Audrey and Lili, whom she adored.
She is also survived by a sister, Irene Bechthold.
After retiring in 1990, she once again returned to Spokane where both she and her husband joined Hope Lutheran Church.
A Memorial Service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, 17909 E. Broadway Ave., Spokane Valley, WA on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10am.
