Obituary: Stover, Virginia
Her mother wanted to name her June Rose after visiting the Rose displays that day.
She was glad her dad named her.
Virginia had two brothers, Don and Roger.
They spent many summers in Newberg OR at their grandparents farm on Siefken Lane.
After high school she went to trade school in Spokane and worked in the civil service and became a “Rosie the Riveter” and repaired airplane fuselages.
She moved to Aberdeen OR and worked as a telephone operator.
At times she took calls from servicemen who just wanted to talk to someone.
Virginia and her friend were ready to move on, so they got an Oregon map, closed their eyes and pointed.
They moved to Eugene!
A few years later she moved to Prineville and became the agency manager for the telephone company.
Virginia met her husband in Prineville.
Their first date was to a dance in Redmond to see Duke Ellington!
She was married to Carl Stover in 1951.
Carl died in 1997.
Virginia and Carl had two children.
Rick Stover and Laura Grubaugh Stover; stepchildren Sue Caicedo, and Richard Stover Virginia loved and was very proud of all of her grandchildren!
Kayla Grubaugh, Doug Jackson, Scott Stover, Ryan Stover, Shelly, Becky Linda, Susie and many great-grandchildren.
