Journey Tops List of ‘Best Driving Songs’

The in-car audio system has been around since the days of the vacuum tube radio, and motorists have long been able to make a long trip or grueling commute more enjoyable by listening to music. What’s the best driving song of all time? According to a recent survey of 2,000 drivers conducted by Insurance.com, it’s Journey’s 80’s stadium-rock anthem “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Other most-loved songs among the top five include Queen’s bombastic “Bohemian Rhapsody,” AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long,” another Journey hit “Anyway You Want It” and Tom Cochrane’s bouncy “Life is a Highway.” As for the worst song to listen to while behind the wheel, that distinction goes to the Baha Men for their reprehensible “Who Let the Dogs Out?” The remainder of the five songs that make motorists most quickly reach for the tuning knob included: “We Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together” by Taylor Swift, Cher’s “Believe,” Morris Albert’s “Feelings” and “Papa Don’t Preach” by Madonna.
