Man shot near Lincoln Park
A homeowner in a South Hill neighborhood near Lincoln Park shot a man outside the residence late Friday, Spokane police reported.
Police released few details of the shooting, which was reported in the 2200 block of East Girard Place about 11:30 p.m. Friday.
“There was an individual who was under the influence of something, we believe, who approached a residence,” said Spokane Police spokeswoman Monique Cotton.
The homeowner came outside and there was a confrontation in the driveway. The man refused to leave and the homeowner fired several shots, Cotton said. The man was shot and left. He was found near 17th Avenue and Mount Vernon Street and taken to a hospital with non-life- threatening injuries, Cotton said.
An attempt to reach residents at the home was unsuccessful Saturday afternoon.
