Shadow win on Adam Talley’s goal in 90th minute
YAKIMA – Adam Talley’s header in the 90th minute lifted Spokane to a 1-0 Evergreen Premier League soccer victory over Yakima United on Friday night, nudging the Shadow closer to the league championship.
The Shadow lead the league by one point over South Sound and Vancouver. Spokane has two games left in the season.
Talley’s goal game after Mike Ramos got the ball and worked his way free of a defender to deliver a cross to Talley at the far post.
The Shadow swarmed the Yakima goal late in the game, forcing several corner kicks.
Spokane had three shots go off the goal frame before Talley, who played at East Valley High and North Idaho College, scored the winner.
The Shadow (8-2-2, 26 points) finished unbeaten on the road with a 6-0-1 record and are unbeaten in their last 10 games at 8-0-2. Yakima fell to 5-8-1 (16 points).
Spokane finishes the season with two home games at Spokane Falls CC. The Shadow play Seattle on July 19 and Wenatchee on July 20.
