Obituary: Clift, Sylvia Jean
Sylvia was born on June 20, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Helen and Harry “Curly” Klomp.
Her dad was an original country crooner and soon Sylvia, brothers Fred and John and sister Joanne all displayed their passion for music.
The family moved to Liberty Lake, WA and in 1960 Sylvia graduated from Otis Orchards High School where she served as a cheerleader.
On July 28, 1962 Sylvia tied an everlasting knot with the love of her life, Bill Clift.
They enjoyed over 51 wonderful years of married life.
Sylvia had many community interests including “3Cs” (Cancer and Community Charities), being a PTA president and being a helpful contributor to Budda Bash and Pelican Dock Days celebrations on Coeur d’ Alene Lake.
During her working days she was employed by The Crescent Department Stores, Oster Appliances and Central Valley School District.
Sylvia enjoyed golfing and boating with Bill and their friends, traveling, and hosting birthday parties for her dad, father-in-law and her other family members and friends.
Sylvia is survived by her husband Bill, her son Darren, her brother John Klomp of Liberty Lake and her sister Joanne Fletcher of Fairbanks, Alaska.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her daughter Neta and her brother Fred.
A celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held at a later date at St. Luke Episcopal Church at 501 E. Wallace Ave., in Coeur d’ Alene, ID (208-644-5533).
