GSL girls: Balanced scoring propels Bullpups to victory

The Greater Spokane League-leading Gonzaga Prep girls basketball team kept rolling along Tuesday.

The visiting Bullpups put four players in double-figure scoring as they cruised past the Mt. Spokane Wildcats 69-45.

Oona Harrington led the Bullpups (8-1 overall, 7-0 league) with 17 points, Otiona Gildon and Hannah Caudill each had 15 and Kayla Leland added 11. Ashlee Pedersen, who came back after missing three games, led Mt. Spokane (3-6, 2-5) with 19.

Mead 66, University 46: The visiting Panthers (6-3, 5-2) outscored the Titans (3-6, 3-4) 21-5 in the decisive third quarter. Delany Junkermier led Mead with 20 points, Ashlyn Lewey scored 14 of her 17 in the first quarter and Sue Winger added 11. Morgan Hawley and McKenzie Peterson led U-Hi with 11 apiece.

Lewis and Clark 67, North Central 50: Ten Tigers (7-2, 6-1) scored as the visitors pulled away from the Indians (0-9, 0-7). LC made 10 of 18 3-point shots. Riley Lupfer led LC with 17 points, Lindsay Lee had 12 and Michaela Kay added 11. Brianna King led NC with 17.

Central Valley 65, Ferris 45: Madison Hovren had a double-double to lead the Bears (6-3, 5-2) past the visiting Saxons (4-5, 3-4). Hovren had 17 points and 15 rebounds and Mariah Cunningham chipped in 18 points. Kaley Lenhart led Ferris with 16.

Shadle Park 50, Rogers 36: Shyla Carr had 28 points to lead the visiting Highlanders (4-5, 4-3). Carr made five 3-point attempts. Sarah Guertin led Rogers (0-9, 0-7) with 14.
