Obituary: Rojan, Michael R.

Age 70

ROJAN, Michael R. MAY 22, 1943 - FEBRUARY 8, 2014 Mike was born in Sandpoint, Idaho to Chester and Vera Allen Rojan.

He attended schools in Spokane and graduated from North Central High School in 1961.

It was at North Central that he met his future wife, Catherine Perry, in 1959.

After graduation he entered the United States Marine Corps and served four years.

While serving in Japan he became interested in photography.

After coming back to Spokane he attended Spokane Falls Community College and graduated from the photography program and later became a faculty member.

After teaching photography for 28 years he retired in 1998.

Mike loved Jesus, his family, photography, backpacking, hot rods, WSU football, the Seahawks, and the Mariners.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Vicki Ball.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Catherine; his children, Kristi Heaton, Amy Orm (Dan), and Aaron Rojan (Tia); eight grandchildren, Tyler and Mary Werts, Emma and Aaron Heaton, John, Jill, and Alaina Orm, and Hannah Rojan, and also by his brother, Jack Rojan (Julie).

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 15 at Life Center Church, 1202 N. Government Way.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mike’s memory to Life Center.
