An ACA success story

In the Republican response to the State of the Union speech, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers told us that the Affordable Care Act does not work, and used “Bette” as an example of its failure. The story she told was proved false by local and national reporting.

I want to share a story of ACA success. My job takes me to many businesses that pay their employees very low wages and don’t provide full-time work. I met a woman who had not had insurance for many years. She had numerous health issues. I worked with her to get her the information to sign up, and now she has insurance obtained through the exchange, at no cost to her. She is now being treated by doctors she could not afford before and hopefully will regain her health.

None of this would have been possible if the GOP and McMorris Rodgers had had their way. Thank you, President Obama.
