White Pass opens ski runs
Low snowpack to begin December would normally be bad news for the White Pass Ski Area.
But thanks to efforts to create man-made frozen powder since Halloween, the Washington resort is open for the season on a limited basis, welcoming skiers and snowboarders who want to get out of town and into the mountains.
“While it’s a small opening, we’re excited to see everyone,” said Kathleen Goyette, White Pass Ski Area marketing director.
White Pass Ski Area is on the Lewis and Yakima county line along U.S. Highway 12 east of Packwood.
