Obituary: Lilliott, Clifton
Clifton was born October 4, 1922 in Bolton, England, to Walter and Alice Lilliott.
His parents immigrated to the United States when he was two years old and settled in Waterbury Connecticut.
He became a U.S. citizen on September 21, 1938.
He enlisted in the United States Navy on December 1, 1942 and was a Machinist Mate Second Class.
He served for four years.
He received the WWII Victory Medal, American Area Medal, Good Conduct Medal and European African Middle Eastern Medal.
He was selected to participate in the V-12 Engineering Program and was recommended to attend MIT on full scholarship.
His chosen profession was mechanical engineering.
He spoke often of his career at EG&G.
When that job closed, he continued to work in his field, eventually moving to Spokane and his last job was working at Instrumental Lab.
He is survived by sons Scott (Lisa) Lilliott, Stowe, MA; Todd Lilliott (companion Deborah), Long Beach, CA.
Two grandchildren, Brianna and Erika; friend and companion, June Garber and good friend Don Lurch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alice Lilliott, sister Gladys Benson and nephew Sherman Benson.
He will be interred per his wishes, with his mother at Prospect Cemetery, in Connecticut.
