Obituary: Jenne, Marjorie S. “Marge”

JENNE, Marjorie S. “Marge” 1920 - 2014 Marge Schroeder was born in Cottonwood, Idaho.

She spent her early childhood on a stock ranch near Keuterville.

From the time she was in the first grade, she rode her horse Skipper to a one-room schoolhouse.

As a teenager, the family moved to Clarkston and then to Wenatchee.

Marge graduated from high school in Wenatchee and attended Eastern Washington College.

After receiving her degree, her first teaching job was in Chewelah.

Her principal talked her into a blind date with a local boy, Les Jenne.

That was Halloween.

They were married the following June (1943) in San Francisco.

Les was in the Navy and while he was overseas, Marge stayed in California.

They subsequently lived in Chewelah, Olympia, Clearwater, Florida, Seattle, Burlington, and for 44 years near or on Angle Lake in SeaTac.

Marge taught kindergarten for a few years and was a beautiful middle-aged model for a local clothing store.

But mostly she was a stay-at-home mom and a homemaker.

She will be remembered for her hospitality, Christmas cookies, sense of humor, smile and bright blue eyes.

Marge was a loving wife, mother, and aunt.

She loved to entertain - small dinner parties or large 4th of July parties.

Anyone who attended fondly remembers the 4th of July on Angle Lake.

At Christmas, Marge would make between 12 and 15 different cookies to share them with friends and family.

Marge and Les left the lake and moved to Spokane in 2000.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and all eight of her siblings.

She is survived by her daughter Jan; nieces and nephews; and her constant companion of the last several years, Mama Kitty.
