Boy injured in ATV crash in CdA National Forest
A 16-year-old boy was injured Monday afternoon when he lost control of his ATV while riding in the Coeur d’Alene National Forest.
The boy was wearing a helmet and suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The boy had been riding on Forest Road 612 near Five Fingers Saddle around 3 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle. The ATV flipped and tumbled down a steep embankment, a news release from the Kootenai County sheriff said.
Kootenai County Fire Rescue crews conducted a “technical rescue” to bring the boy up out of a ravine. He was then air-lifted to Kootenai Health by a Life Flight helicopter, the release said.
