Obituary: Lynch, Donald T.
Age 73
Don was preceded in death by his parents Roy O. Lynch, Elizabeth Lynch and Bessie Lynch and his brother, Bob Lynch.
Don is survived by his wife, Chris, and his children: Angie and Joe Brown, Andrea and Jeff Egger, Beth Lynch and Tom Lynch; his grandchildren Ashley (Derek), Andrew, Sammie, Mia, Allie, Jacquie, and Bella; two great- grandchildren, Caeden and Audrey; brothers, sister, and sisters-in-law, Jerry (Brenda), Clayton (Pat), Debbie, and Judy.
Don was born in Grass Valley, CA, then moved to the Ione area in 1948 where the family stayed until 1958 when they moved to Moses Lake.
Don went to work for SCRHD as an environmental health specialist in February, 1969, and retired in June, 2001.
He then worked for Metro Engineering and retired again in 2008.
Don played softball on the legendary Abner Doubleday Team, supported Chris’ teams and enjoyed all of the friends he made on and off the field.
He referred to the SPARX softball team members as his Angels.
He enjoyed hunting grouse, riding the ATV at the lake, and watching eagles fish from the lake house deck.
Travel was a huge part of his life, whether to Sullivan Lake, Mazatlan, Mexico or to Phoenix to see Beth and catch a pre-season Mariners game.
His greatest love was his wife and children though he made friends wherever he went.
He will be remembered for his integrity, genuineness, and of course, his sense of humor.
Don’s celebration of life memorial will be held on Sunday, August 17th at the Southside Senior and Community Center at 3151 E. 27th (27th and Ray), from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Please feel free to bring a “Don-ism” and/or a story to share.
Light snacks and beverages will be served at the conclusion of the service.
Donations can be made in Don’s name to The National Brain Tumor Society (for research) or to Hospice of Spokane.
