HEMPERLY, Lorene May Lorene May Hemperly passed away July 21, 2014 after a courageous battle with lung disease.

She was born March 11, 1932 in Moscow, Idaho to Arthur and Josephine Taylor.

After graduating from High School, she worked various customer service and clerical jobs.

Lorene met and married Keith Harland in 1950.

The young couple lived in Moscow for a short time and moved to California.

Keith’s civil service job took them to Japan for 4 1/2 years.

Returning to the states, Keith was killed in a deep sea diving accident.

Lorene remained in California where she met and married Earl Hemperly in 1968.

Earl’s career in the military took them to Taiwan.

Upon their return to the states, Earl was transferred to Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota.

Lorene spent many days fishing and sightseeing the historical state.

Earl’s retirement from the Air Force brought them to Spokane.

Lorene loved life and never met a stranger.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge, and enjoyed many crafts with her friends, including, bingo, the casino, gardening and especially her little dachshund, Stella Rae.

Having no children of her own, Lorene “adopted” longtime friend, Vikki Tuchek, as her daughter.

She spent many holidays, and special occasions with Vikki and her extended family, touching the hearts of everyone.

We Love you my Beautiful, Sassy, Czech Friend, may you finally be at Peace and each breath be Heavenly.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8th at 1:00pm at Fairmont Memorial Park.

At Lorene’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heath’s Haven Special Needs Dog Rescue.
