Obituary: Congrove, Donald Ray
He was born in Douglas Arizona on October 6, 1939.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rolland and Mary (Fritz) Congrove.
After Don graduated from Fairfield High School in Nebraska, he then served twenty years in the U.S. Air Force, was a decorated Vietnam Veteran, and retired as a Tech Sergeant in 1979.
When he retired from the military he worked for Welk Bros. and Royal Business Systems until retiring.
He was an active member of the square dance community for which he served as a caller/teacher for over 24 years.
Don also served on several committees, as well as the president of the WA State Square Dance Federation.
He loved hunting, fishing, and traveling.
His greatest love was spending time with his grand- children, Kevin, Christian, Kayte (Jordan), Jessica, Kimberlee, Kyle, and Jayce.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynda (Werhan) Congrove, as well as his brother Ronald (Maxine) Congrove, sisters-in-law Betty Saffle and Marjorie Loncosty, his children, Kristi (Clint) Beler, Kelli (Vance) True, Michelle (Jack) Adas, Bob (Cindy) Congrove, 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a nephew Jim (Cheryl) Congrove, a niece, Janet (Dean) VanNort, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
There will be a private ceremony at a later date at the WA State Veterans Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Square Dance Heritage Center in Spokane.
