No death penalty for theft

In this country we do not have the death penalty for theft. I know some people think we should. But the vast majority of citizens decided long ago through their representative government that we do not take a life over the theft of an object.

A young man’s life is more important than a truck and some tools. Hundreds of thousands of people have screwed up big time and later become valuable contributing members of our country. We’ll never know if Brendon Kaluza-Graham would have been because one person acting alone without forethought or the council of his community ended Brendon’s life.

That is wrong.
