Obituary: Neil, Mary A. (Pratt)
Age 89
(Pratt) (Age 89) Of Cocollala, passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 1, 2014.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Sunset Chapel, at Fairmont Memorial Park, in Spokane with Caleb Wood officiating.
A viewing and reception time will begin at the chapel on Saturday from 11:00 until time of services.
There will also be a viewing at Coffelt Funeral Chapel on Friday from 3:00-5:00PM.
Interment will follow in Fairmont Memorial Park.
Mary was born February 13, 1925 in Proctor, Colorado, the daughter of Warren and Thyra Pratt.
At the age of ten she moved with her family to Athol, Idaho where she completed her schooling.
She married William John Neil at 16 years of age on August 2, 1941.
They lived in Spokane for many years before moving to Cocolalla in 1980 after their retirement.
She worked for the Armour Company for 24 years and later at Keytronics until she retired.
Mary enjoyed working in her flower garden, all kinds of dancing, especially square dancing, bowling, working crossword puzzles, found pleasure in playing cards, and spending time at the Senior Citizens Center.
She and William thoroughly enjoyed traveling often, including the whole family on their many excursions.
She is survived by three children: Jim Neil of Spokane, Ken (Jan) Neil of Whidby Island, WA, Kathy (Anders) Raiha of Sandpoint; grandchildren: Shantel Ruiz, Beau Neil, Sam Neil, Kurt Neil, Chelsey McQuoid, Jake Neil, Julia Neil and Andrew Raiha.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Marin and Rylie Ruiz, Colton SonSalla, Austin and Dylan Neil, Kurshell and Kyle Neil, and Jaden and Connor Bakeberg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Neil; one son, Rennie Neil; and by three siblings: Ward (Doris), Joe (Marge), and her sister Lou.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to River City Hospice and to Jo Russell for the loving care shown to Mary the past few months.
The family suggests memorial to the Sandpoint Senior Citizens Center, or to River City Hospice.
