Obituary: Klante, Dennis Gregory
Age 80
Upon graduation from Milroy High, he joined the Marine Corps serving in the Korean War.
After discharge from military service, Denny moved to Spokane, WA where he spent his remaining years.
He worked in the heavy equipment and truck/trailer industry, eventually opening up his own company, Mountain Trailer Sales with his business partner, Russ Grieb.
The business was eventually sold to Alloy Trailers, Inc. where he worked until retirement.
Denny was happiest spending time with his family and enjoying the outdoors.
His favorite activities included snowmobiling, boating, fishing and working in his gardens.
He was an accomplished woodworker making custom furniture pieces for his home.
He was also a handyman extraordinaire who was always willing to help family and friends with any project they might have.
Denny was a warm, loving man who was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Denny is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughter Kimberley Bokma and grandchildren Tanner and Hannah Bokma; his son, Gregor Klante and his fiancĂŠ, Alicea Frost; ex-wife, Barbara Klante; stepdaughter Kristin (Steve) Childers and grandson, Cody Childers; stepson, Darin Jacobson; and sister, Dixie (Ron) Stovern.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Arden Klante and Tom Nelson.
The family would like to thank Cancer Care Northwest for the wonderful care they provided to Denny over the last year during his struggle with lung cancer.
In lieu of flowers, gifts of remembrance may be sent to the Spokane Humane Society, Inland Northwest Honor Flight or the charity of their choice.
A Memorial Service will be held at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division, on Thursday, November 7th at 11:00 AM.
A Reception will follow directly after.
Inurnment will take place at Washington State Veteran’s Cemetery, Medical Lake, WA at 2:15 PM.
