Obituary: Tefft, Joyce Anne
Joyce was a long time resident and second generation family of Loon Lake.
She was born in Spokane, WA and raised in Spokane by Art and Florence Stemple where she grew up with her twin sister, Joan Blakemore and little sister, Judy Impecoven.
She graduated from North Central High School in 1952.
Following high school, she worked as a telephone operator before marrying her high school sweetheart, Jim Tefft, now a retired Lt. Col of the USAF.
Joyce traveled the world with Jim until they settled down to enjoy the beauty of Loon Lake in their lake front home.
Later in life, after raising her four children, Joyce went on to get a Masters degree in Sociology from Eastern Washington University.
Joyce started her own business called Triad for mental health counseling.
She enjoyed expressing her talent in art with her painting and poetry (most written during church service).
Joyce was an active participant of the Loon Lake Assembly of God.
A long time member of the Loon Lake community, Joyce is survived by her children, Carol Johansen, Cindy Klein, Jim Tefft and Jacci Schroeder; her sister, Judy Impecoven; brother, Joe Stencil; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Joyce especially enjoyed sharing her home at the lake in the summer with her children and their family surrounded by many relatives including her younger sister and twin sister’s family who all live nearby.
She will be missed by her family, the father of her children and numerous friends along with her strong church community.
Memorial services will be held at Loon Lake Assembly of God on Thursday, March 21 at 12 NOON.
