Obituary: Fisher, Robert A. “Bud”

Age 61

FISHER, Robert A.

“Bud” (Age 61) Passed away peacefully in the comfort of his family on March 8, 2013 at his Rosalia, WA home, following a valiant fight with cancer.

Bud was born March 28, 1951 in Monterey, CA to Sgt.

Robert Fisher and Betty Hotchkiss Fisher.

As a child Bud moved frequently with his family, following his father’s military career.

Bud graduated from Camas High School in 1969 in Camas, WA.

From there he went into the Navy where he proudly served his country for four years.

That is where his first taste for helping others started.

Bud then went into nursing and received his RN from Clark College (Vancouver, WA) in 1982.

He worked in many areas, mostly in the intensive care unit and emergency department.

His career ended at Pullman Regional Hospital where he was beloved by his patients and coworkers.

His passion for helping others ended abruptly, yet his legacy will continue on for many years, through the tender hands of caring.

Throughout Bud’s life, he kept himself busy spending time with family and friends, gardening, fishing, hiking and more recently gold prospecting.

He spent countless hours looking for the “perfect storm” to yield the best prospecting results.

He enjoyed teaching others about his newly found hobby.

Bud was also a big animal lover.

He helped his children learn to care for animals and show them at fairs.

Bud is survived by his wife of thirty years Marcy Fisher; his five children Brian Fisher, Sarah Fisher, Leanne Woodard, Maria Tang and Allison Townsend; three brothers Dan Whitney, Dale Whitney and Red Fisher; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew Ted Whitney and a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bud’s family wishes to extend a special thanks to Hospice, Pullman Regional Hospital and all our wonderful family, friends, caregivers, doctors and nurses.

The memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at KIMBALL FUNERAL HOME in PULLMAN, WA.

Memorial donations are suggested to Friends of Hospice or to Cancer Care Northwest.
