Suspect in Friday shooting taken into custody
A suspect in last week’s shooting at an east Spokane home was taken into custody this afternoon, authorities said.
William G. Anderson, 39, was arrested, and charges for first-degree assault are pending, the Spokane Police Department said.
Details remain sketchy as the investigation continues but the arrest came as police searched a home in the 1600 block of North Stone Street, according to the Spokane Police Department. Officers were looking for Anderson and for a firearm and had obtained a search warrant for the home.
Last Friday night, 35-year-old Jeremy Paul Lambert was shot in the chest when a group of men gathered outside the door of his home at 1607 E. Pacific and opened fire. Lambert was expected to survive the attack, police said over the weekend.
Earlier that day, a man’s body was found in front of the home, which police said is considered a problem residence.
