The Knights jumped out to a 14-5 lead after the first 8 minutes and never trailed as they easily took care of the Kodiaks.

Alex Brouwer and Brian Broersma combined to shoot 13 of 26 from the field for 29 points for the Knights, who held the Kodiaks to just 11 first-half points and 30.3 percent shooting overall.

The Knights outscored the Kodiaks 24-6 from the 3-point line and held a 24-12 advantage in points in the paint.

Josh Rodriguez led the Kodiaks with 10 points on 3-of-8 shooting, including a 4-of-6 performance from the free-throw line. David Irias was the top rebounder, grabbing six boards.

LaCrosse-Washtucna/ Kahlotus used a strong second have to take care of Soap Lake and defeat the Eagles despite senior Jason Korneychuk’s game-high 24 points.

Austin Summers led the Eagles with 13 points and made all four of his free-throw attempts and Jed Zimmer notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Eagles held the Tigercats to a paltry 26.8 percent shooting for the game.

Korneychuk accounted for more than half of the Tigers’ offense and made 10 of their 15 baskets. He also grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds in addition to two steals and an assist.

Riley Bolt’s double-double performance of 19 points and 10 rebounds led the way for the Pomeroy Pirates who clung to a single-digit fourth quarter lead and defeated the Christian Faith Eagles.

The Pirates used a 22-11 first quarter to pull in front of the Eagles, who were led by Makaran Toor’s 18 points.

Christian Faith closed to as few as three points in the fourth quarter but could not climb all the way back in front. Tanner Feider hit two free throws with 14.2 seconds left to put the Eagles ahead by seven and clinch the victory.

Closely fought for the first three quarters, Neah Bay outscored Taholah 21-3 in the final period to pull away and ensure a win for the Red Devils.

Neah Bay’s stifling defense held Taholah to just 28.6 percent shooting in the second half, while the Red Devils made seven of their 11 3-point attempts in the final two periods.

Four Red Devils scored in double figures, with Ryan Moss efficiently pouring in 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Keanu Curleybear was one of three Chitwins with 10 or more, scoring 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting.

Neah Bay dominated on the glass, out-ebounding Taholah by a 43-24 margin.
