Age 86

SADLER, William B.

(Age 86) William Bruce Sadler “Bill” was born to George and Estelle Sadler on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1926 in Kennett, California.

Bill passed away at home on June 22, 2013 with his loving wife, Mary, and two of his three daughters by his side.

Bill volunteered for the Navy at age 17 and was in the V12 Officer’s Training and Pilot program at the University of Stockton when the war ended.

He was discharged from the Navy but continued his education and during his college years, he met Mary Pederson and on January 22, 1949 they were married.

Three daughters were born while they lived in Chico, CA, where Bill began his career in a meat processing and distribution business which resulted in several moves eventually bringing the family to Spokane, WA, where they lived for nine years.

His next move took them to Beaverton, OR, where Bill and Mary lived for 16 years.

At retirement in July of 1993, one last move brought them back to Spokane to be closer to family.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Nadine Sadler, and his daughters Jane Michelsen (Claude) and Gail Haxton (Jim) both of Mead, WA and Cynthia Grieb (Scott) of Crystal Lake, IL.

Bill is also survived by eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, George Luxford Sadler, mother, Estelle Mae Sadler, and his only sibling, Georgia Lois Jones.

A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1pm.
