Obituary: Roe, Stanley Jesse “Stan”
Age 92
Stanley was born in Pedee, Oregon on September 23rd, 1920 to Jesse Philip Roe and Marie Roe (née Michel).
Stanley graduated from Lewis and Clark High School.
He married Florence Edith Taylor on February 20th, 1946.
Stanley served in the United States Army from July 30th, 1942 to November 10th, 1945 during World War II in the Philippines and other areas of the Pacific Theater.
After the war he operated a construction company, and after suffering an injury, went to work at West Valley School District as a custodian.
Stanley retired in 1983, pursuing his love of gardening which included a business of selling raspberries and rhubarb.
His wife moved to Sullivan Park in 2006 and he joined her there in 2010, until his death.
Stanley is survived by his two daughters: Judith L. DeWitt and Linda M. Zurcher.
He is also survived by a niece: Barbara Harms (née Gering); a nephew: James D. Gering; four grandchildren: Marie Gardner (née Zurcher), Clyde Zurcher, Albert W. DeWitt Jr., and Will Zurcher; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on June 7th, 2013 at the South Pines Cemetery, 13126 E 32nd Ave.
