Obituary: Waali, Douglas

Age 75

WAALI, Douglas (Age 75) Douglas was born on November 11, 1937 to Paul and Ethel Waali in Seattle, WA and passed away on December 31, 2012.

He grew up in Poulsbo, WA and graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1955.

Douglas then went on to the University of Washington, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management in 1961.

He later received an MBA from the University of Utah.

Douglas then joined the Air Force and served 20 years, retiring as a Major and Navigator for KC-135s.

He and Barbara Waali were married for 49 years.

He also worked for the Spokane Transit Authority for 20 years.

Douglas was a part of the Masons, the VFW, and the American Tree Farm Association.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of Newport, WA; daughter Linda Kay Waali of Newport, WA; grandson Bryan Matthews of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous other relatives.

Douglas was preceded in death by his daughter Ann M. Hackner.

A service will be held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd.

Medical Lake, WA 99022 on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 3:00 PM.
