Obituary: Gregg, J. Dever

Age 82

GREGG, J. Dever (July 28, 1930 - January 3, 2013) Dever was born in Spokane, Washington on July 28, 1930 to Vincent Paul Gregg and Lucia Dever Gregg.

He graduated from Wilson Grade School, Lewis & Clark High School and Washington State University.

At WSU, in addition to singing lead in the Sigma Nu quartet, Dever served as President of that fraternity.

After graduation, he was drafted and served two years in the US Army during the Korean War.

After the Army, Dever received a Master Degree from the Harvard Business School in 1948.

His business career was primarily in marketing and general management with Procter & Gamble as Brand Manager, at Warner-Lambert as President of the Products Division and at National Liberty Corporation where he served as chairman.

Dever claimed Jesus Christ as his Savior and was involved with evangelistic church groups throughout his life.

At the time of his death, he was a member of Christ the King, Anglican Church in Spokane and living in the Rockwood Retirement Community.

Dever was preceded in death three years ago by Dawn, his wife of 48 years.

He is survived by two sons, John Dever, Jr. of Buford Georgia and Paul Andrew and his wife, Lucia, of Dublin Ireland; a grandson, John Dever III and a granddaughter, Grayson Laurel of Buford GA.

There will be a private family graveside service at Greenwood Memorial Terrace where Dever will be buried.
