Obituary: Weisser, Richard E.
He graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1967.
After graduation, Rich attended Spokane Community College and Eastern Washington University, earning a B.S.
in Education in 1971.
He was the first in the family to graduate from college.
In 1970 he was the silver gloves boxing champ at E.W.U.
Following college, Rich spent two years serving in the U.S. Army as a Medic/Psych Tech, and earning the expert rifleman badge.
Rich had many passions: hunting, fishing, scuba diving, skiing, coaching youth sports, teaching hunters education, performing as a folk/ bluegrass/gospel singer-musician.
He was very athletic, running the Coeur d Alene marathon twice; finished the Iron Man Competition in 1994; a three time winner of the Spokane Canoe Classic.
Throughout his career he has spent time as a psychiactric technician, pole building construction contractor, commercial sales manager, and a sales estimator.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Viktoria Weisser.
He is survived by his wife Colleen Weisser (Nine Mile Falls, WA); children: Tim Weisser (Spokane, WA), Diana Hoppe (David) and grandchildren Jillian Hoppe and Neil Hoppe (Wilkes-Barre, PA).
Visitation will be held on Monday December 31st from 8:00AM to 5:00PM and Wednesday January 2nd from 8:00AM to 3:00PM.
A Funeral Service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 4:00PM.
Interment will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley on Thursday January 3rd at 9:00AM.
