Sheriff’s deputies arrest four who allegedly stole Christmas mail

Four people have been arrested in the past week for stealing Christmas letters and packages delivered through the U.S. Postal Service, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said. Ryan Thomas, 22, and Jennifer Harris, 25, were arrested in Airway Heights after a medical call Friday, according to a news release. Credit cards reported stolen were found on both Thomas and Harris, and Harris was wanted on an outstanding warrant, investigators said. A bag of mail addressed to numerous alleged victims was also found with the couple. They are facing charges of identity theft, forgery and possession of stolen property, according to the Sheriff’s Office. On Monday, deputies in Spokane Valley arrested Seth Grener, 21, and Ealyshia Foreman, 34, after the pair told police they’d been taking packages from doorsteps and rewrapping them to give away as Christmas gifts. A witness near the 14600 block of East Broadway Avenue reported seeing Grener take a package then sprint to a car driven by Foreman, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Foreman told police she stole because she is unemployed and needed the gifts for her family for Christmas. Both suspects are being held on a theft charge in the original incident. Investigators plan to pursue further charges as they sort through the packages discovered at the couple’s home, according to the news release.
