Balanced Broncos topple Reardan

Ryan Whitmore scored 14 points and Connor O’Neill 13 to lead five Lind-Ritzville/Sprague players in double figures as the Broncos stayed perfect with a 68-58 Northeast 2B League win over Reardan on Friday night in Ritzville.

LRS led 16-3 after the first quarter before Skylar Peone brought Reardan (2-4, 0-3) back, scoring 15 of his 32 points in the second quarter.

The Broncos (3-0, 2-0) were up eight at halftime before pulling away, leading by 20 points with 4 minutes left.

Dylan Hartz scored 11 points and Cort Ruzicka and Tyler Frederick 10 each for LRS, which hit 26 of 44 shots.

Colfax 46, Springdale 37: Brent Becker scored 15 points, Kasey Johnson 14 and Keith Gfellar 10 as the Bulldogs (2-2, 1-1) scrapped their way to a victory over the visiting Chargers (0-7, 0-2). Colfax took a 13-8 lead in the first quarter and never trailed, going up by as many as 14 points in the final period. Josh Anderson led the Chargers with 10 points.

Northeast A

Riverside 68, Chewelah 46: Dalton Rausch scored 16 points and the Rams (6-0, 2-0) overcame early foul trouble in a win over the visiting Cougars (1-4, 0-1). Riverside was aided by a 17-7 first-quarter run and also received 10 points and eight rebounds from Tyler Axtell. The Cougars were led by Nic Grimm’s 13 points.

Medical Lake 63, Kettle Falls 49: Jordan Rohweder scored 15 points, including three 3-pointers in the final quarter, as the Cardinals (2-6, 1-1) surged in the fourth and beat the visiting Bulldogs (4-3, 0-1). Jaelon Stith added 11 points and 14 rebounds. Connor McKern led Kettle Falls with 17 points.

Southeast 1B

Garfield-Palouse 68, Rosalia 37: The Vikings (7-0, 3-0) surged after a competitive first quarter and dumped the visiting Spartans (0-3, 0-1). Tyler Thurman tallied a game-high 25 points and Hunter Woltering pulled down 12 rebounds for Garfield-Palouse.

• LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus’ game at St. John-Endicott and Colton’s game at Liberty Christian were postponed by weather.

Nonleague

Post Falls 62, Lakeland 57: Joey Pfennigs hit a late 3-pointer to help the Trojans (4-3) outlast the Hawks (4-3) in Rathdrum. Post Falls opened with an 11-2 run, which Lakeland immediately countered with a 12-2 run of its own. Tyrel Derrick scored 33 points to lead the Hawks. Corey Koski led the Trojans with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Clarkston 65, Lake City 59: Kage Sobotta scored 23 points and was 7 of 9 from the free-throw line in leading the Bantams (5-0) past the Timberwolves (4-1) in Coeur d’Alene. Lake City was led by Kyle Guice with 26 points, six rebounds and five blocks.

Sandpoint 68, Bonners Ferry 50: Jeremiah Gagnon scored 21 points as the Bulldogs (4-2) built a comfortable first-half lead and beat the host Badgers (0-4). Cameron Woods tallied a game-high 28 points for Bonners Ferry.

East Valley 69, Timberlake 48: The Knights (3-2) hit 21 of 22 free throws and routed the host Tigers (0-6) at Spirit Lake. J.T. Phelan led EV with 19 points and Keegan Scott scored 16 for Timberlake.

Freeman 76, Cheney 57: Jake Phipps hit eight 3-pointers and scored 40 points to guide the Scotties (2-1) past the visiting Blackhawks (1-4). Michael Pierce added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Freeman. Alex Berman led Cheney with 17 points.

Lakeside (Idaho) 85, Newport 84 (OT): Joe Brown hit two free throws with a second left in overtime to give the Knights (5-2) a win over the Grizzlies (3-3) at the Priest River Tournament. The Grizzlies’ Jeron Konkright, who scored 43 points for the second time this season, hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer in regulation to force OT. Konkright finished with four 3-pointers and shot 15 of 17 from the line. Doug Schatz led the Knights with 27 points.

Liberty 68, Odessa-Harrington 41: Clay Fleming and Ryan Thayer both had 16 points and Austin Sievers added nine assists as the Lancers (7-1) dominated in the first half and cruised past the visiting Titans (3-2). Sam Schafer led all scorers with 23 points for Odessa-Harrington.

Wilbur-Creston 53, Republic 42: The Wildcats (5-2) raced out to a 13-0 lead and withstood a series of comeback attempts, ultimately defeating the host Tigers (3-3). Garet Townsend led the Wildcats with 16 points.

Priest River 61, Selkirk 45: Jimmy Koch scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Spartans (1-5) pulled away in the second half and beat the Rangers (1-6) at the Priest River Tournament. Priest River held a one-point lead at halftime, but Colton Nunley, who finished with 15 points, helped stretch the lead to 10 entering the fourth. Shawn Mailly scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half for the Rangers, and Dominic Cain added 12 points.

Wellpinit 77, Northport 27: Brody Ford scored a game-high 17 points as the Redskins (4-1) dominated from the outset in a win over the Mustangs (0-8) at the Wellpinit Christmas Tournament in Wellpinit. Patrick Lamb led the Mustangs with 11 points.

Cusick 77, Inchelium 39: Alec Bluff scored 14 points and Tyson Shanholtzer added 12 as the Panthers (5-1) routed the Hornets (1-3) at the Wellpinit Christmas Tournament. Inchelium was led by Edward Stensgar with 15 points. The Panthers made 10 of 23 3-pointers.

Deary 39, Kootenai 28: Bryden Proctor scored 19 points to lead the Mustangs past the Warriors in Harrison. Jake Pfieffer led Kootenai with 15 points.
