Obituary: Fode, Terry Lee
Age 60
Terry passed away on November 20th, 2013 at the family farm after an epic nine month battle with pancreatic cancer.
He had recently celebrated his 60th birthday.
Terry was a lifelong resident and farmer from the Lind area.
He was born on September 27th, 1953 to Clarence and Viola Fode.
He graduated from the Lind High School in 1972 and tended to the Fode family farm until his recent retirement.
He also served the local communities for many years as an EMT, a job he loved with all his heart.
Terry was well known in the area for doing his own thing without worrying about what others might think about it, and he enjoyed living his life in that way.
He was a lover of Rock & Roll, electric guitars, and motorcycles which the town could hear all of them blaring from his residence often.
He loved to shake people up with some of his clothing selections, and his LOVE of fireworks and “big boomers” but everyone knew it was just “Terry being Terry”.
Terry loved almost all sports including the Seahawks, Lind Bulldogs, and LRS Broncos, but he was truly a baseball nut playing town team softball for many years and always having his softball glove and bat close by.
He was a “franchise” fan of the Seattle Mariners since their entrance into the MLB.
He traveled the country extensively on several occasions, following the Mariners and visiting as many of the iconic sporting venues as possible such as Fenway Park and Yankees Stadium where after finding an open gate he wandered in and, without being arrested (as he always pointed out), actually got a personal tour of the stadium by a member of the grounds keeping staff.
He mentioned several times that the personal tour was a highlight of his travels.
Terry was known as Uncle Booga to all of his nieces and nephews and, being a bachelor, he truly loved all of them and attended many of their sporting and significant life events.
Each one had their own unique “Booga” nickname and each looked forward to and received a special “Boogahug” whenever Terry came around…. at least until they got too big to shake, spin, twirl, helicopter, flip, zoom, etc.
etc.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by two sisters: Cheryl (Gary) McMahon and Michelle (Tim) Smith and a brother Brian (Vicki Ferderer) Fode.
Nieces and nephews: Lynnette (Scott) Jones, Joel Socci, Derek (Jenny) Socci, Ashley Socci, Traven, Bridger and Camden Smith, Ron (Melinda) Ferderer, Lori (Jason) Ste.
Marie, Mike (Tina) Ferderer.
Great nieces and nephews: Taylor and Tareyn Jones, Tamrynn Socci, Kenzie Pratt, Lucas Socci, Sarah, Shane, Matthias and Maisa Ferderer, Brittany and Travis Ste.
Marie.
Please wear your Mariners, Seahawks, or Tie-Dye to the celebration.
A meal will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Bronc Boosters, PO Box 422, Ritzville WA 99169.
