Obituary: Cotant, Maudie Marie “Bonnie”
Age 93
She passed away peacefully on November 28, 2013 at the Academy Assisted Living in Spokane.
Bonnie met and married Joseph A. Charbonneau in the early 1940s and had two children, Jo Ann and Jack.
After eight years of marriage Bonnie and Joseph were separated.
Bonnie then met her loving husband of 59 years James Paul Cotant.
She was an energetic and loving mother, sister, grandma and great-grandma to all of her family.
She had a sense of adventure and humor that was infectious to all around her.
In her 93 years she enjoyed playing basketball (all 4‘10” of her), gymnastics, dance, skiing, hiking as well as any new adventure that came her way.
Bonnie also had a passion for dancing and did so often with Jim at the Moose, where they were members for 31 years, sometimes until they closed the doors.
Bonnie was very involved in various charities and clubs including March of Dimes, the American Cancer Society, Ladies of the Moose, and the Rock Rollers Club, just to name a few.
She reveled in traveling on Rock Hounding trips and loved working in lapidary.
She was involved every year in the Gem and Mineral Show with her husband Jim where they had a booth for their shop, Jim’s Rock and Jewelry.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Jim; and step-son Jimmy Cotant Jr. She is survived by two children, Jo Ann Jennings and Jack Charbonneau; and four step children, Misty Davis, Nannette Sines, and Bruce Cotant.
We wish to recognize the wonderful loving care given to her at The Academy Assisted Living facility where she enjoyed a variety of wonderful activities.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11:30 at Heritage Funeral Home.
