Smart enough to save

The Aug. 5 sour grapes letter of Bob Wynhausen mischaracterizes the “select and fortunate few” who had the self-control and discipline to refrain from spending their entire paycheck. Many of them also saved by deciding not to go in debt for future paychecks. Allowing a small part of their earnings to earn for them is a choice that determines much of their future.
