Obituary: Widman, David

Age 81

WIDMAN, David (Age 81) Passed away April 13, 2013, in Fairfield, Washington.

He was born March 11, 1932 on the family farm in Rosalia to Leonard and Ester Widman and was a graduate of Rosalia High School.

David attended Washington State College, and served in the United States Navy before starting his farming career in the Rosalia community.

“Uncle Dave” had deep affections for his many nieces and nephews, animals, his farm land, sporting events, and hunting with his favorite dog Rex.

He was a member of the Rosalia United Methodist Church.

During the last years of his life he developed a love for strawberry milkshakes, orange soda pop, chewing gum, and enjoying slow rides in his gray Ford pickup.

He is survived by his two sisters, Ann Jackman of Spokane, Marian Jackson of Olympia and his life long friend, Dr. Boyd Hardesty, of Rosalia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; George, Ed, and Joe.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Rosalia Methodist Church.

You are welcome to attend a hot dog/wiener roast (something Dave especially loved) on the family farm after the service, weather permitting.
