Roskelley’s integrity impeccable

Having worked for former Spokane County Commissioner John Roskelley for nine years, and his opponent for six years, and for numerous other county commissioners, this is what I witnessed: John always demonstrated honest public service, accountability, and conservative values with the public’s money.

Roskelley wouldn’t taint his judgment or the larger community interests with political action committee money, campaign paybacks, or union endorsement. That’s integrity.

With John, everyone lived by the same rules, were treated equally and fairly. Goal posts weren’t moved for special political or financial interests. Laws were followed and sound policies implemented. County employees respected John, and he respected his employees. That’s leadership.

When the county budget couldn’t afford to retain a needed position in the Medical Examiner’s Office, John volunteered – working nights to do it – and continued to be a volunteer fireman in his district, all while being our full-time commissioner. That’s commitment.

On weekends, you would see John picking up trash along county roads and waterways, rebuilding shoreline banks, protecting the aquifer and the public’s drinking water. That’s being an environmentalist.

More than ever, we need John’s conservative values, integrity, leadership, and commitment to serve the greater community. We need John Roskelley as county commissioner.
