End her regressive votes

Fifth Congressional District Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers needs to be voted out of office. She increasingly supports legislation that is socially regressive and counter to the protections that most Americans hold dear.

In 2011, McMorris Rodgers voted for the Rep. Paul Ryan budget, which would significantly worsen inequality and increase poverty and hardship. In a decade, it would increase the deficit by $1.3 trillion.

In 2012, McMorris Rodgers voted for the House version of the re-authorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), which denies protection to some of the most vulnerable members of the population. The Senate version of VAWA, which McMorris Rodgers does not support, protects Native American women from domestic violence and sexual assault. It includes protection for all victims regardless of their color, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability.

The 5th Congressional District needs a representative who will be an advocate for all its constituents. Rich Cowan will restore the power of advocacy to 5th Congressional District voters. Instead of advocating the views of Paul Ryan and the Republican caucus to voters, Rich Cowan will advocate the views of 5th Congressional District voters to members of Congress.
