When No. 13 Oklahoma and No. 15 Texas clash today ( 9 a.m. on ABC) at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, one of college football’s most colorful rivalries becomes a struggle for Big 12 survival. For the first time since 1999, neither team is ranked in the top 10. It’s just the second time in 15 years that both teams will arrive in the festive atmosphere already carrying a conference loss. Even if all that was at stake was the Golden Hat trophy, the stakes would still seem high. But it could also be an elimination game in the Big 12 championship chase. The Sooners (3-1, 1-1 Big 12) have won the last two games, after Texas (4-1, 1-1) claimed four of the previous five. – AP
