Obituary: Albert, Levi Dennis
Passed away at his home in Elk, WA, on May 12th, 2012 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on August 26, 1922 in Elk River, Idaho.
Levi was married on September 1, 1942 to Florence Alderson.
They were married 62 years when she passed away on July 8, 2005.
He was her loving caregiver for 10 years.
Levi had been a logger, bricklayer, and masonry contractor.
As a bricklayer, he was known to be among the best.
His brick work was so perfectly straight, the other bricklayers checked their levels to his work.
Levi was among five bricklayers selected to work on the addition to St. John’s Cathedral in Spokane in the 1950’s.
Levi was a very hard worker and a courageous man.
He was able to accomplish things many others could not.
Until age 87, he and his family frequently spent Sunday evenings dancing at the Eagles and he never missed a dance.
On his 89th birthday Levi was honored as a World War II veteran by Honor Flight.
He is survived by his nine children; sons, Dennis (Cyndie) Albert, Athol, ID, Ritchie (Christa) Albert, Chattaroy, WA, Wayne (Judy) Albert, Spokane Valley, WA, Guy (Patti) Albert, Marysville, WA; daughters, Karen (Eugene) Bishop, Eugene, OR, Cheryl (Ron) Conner, Chattaroy, WA, Charlene (Jerry) Michael, Otis Orchards, WA, Eveline (Dirk) Flowers, Redmond, WA, Marilyn (Jeff) Palmer, Spokane Valley, WA; brothers, Russell, Olympia, WA, Howard, Leslie, Spokane, WA; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and last, but not least, his loving and faithful dog, Blackie.
A private family remembrance has been held to celebrate his life.
