Dorothy M.
(Age 85)

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 9, 2012 in Lake Stevens, WA, where she had resided the last three years.

Dorothy was born in Wallace, ID, February 9, 1927.

She moved to the Spokane Valley when she was five years old, and was raised there where she and her parents operated Central Valley Service in Veradale for several years.

She graduated from Central Valley High School, then married her late husband James Frye in 1947.

They were married for 46 years.

Together they raised four children in Spokane, and were foster parents for 25 years.

She was very active in her children’s PTA at Lidgerwood School, and was a recipient of the Goldon Acorn award.

She was a very devoted mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother.

In her later years she enjoyed taking on all comers in a game of Rummikub in the social room.

She is survived by her children Jerry Frye (Judi) Spokane, Patricia Mathison (Jerry) Lake Stevens, WA, Lynette Frye (Dan) Tacoma, WA, and Tony Frye, Spokane.

She is also survived by her late husband’s children James Frye (McCall) Spokane, Carol Ann Davey (Gary) Spokane, Linda Freeland (David) Bremerton, WA, and Robert Frye (Janet) Virginia Beach, VA. She leaves behind six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.


A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Mausoleum, 7200 N. Wall St. on Saturday, May 19th, 2012, at 1:30 pm with Sister Ann Pizelo officiating.

In lieu of flowers, dontations to Snohomish County Hospice would be appreciated.
