Griner in cast after breaking wrist on longboard
Two-time All-America center Brittney Griner (pictured) is recovering from a broken right wrist suffered in a longboard accident. Baylor coach Kim Mulkey said on Wednesday night that Griner will be in a cast for four weeks. The school released no other details about the injury on the longboard, an elongated skateboard. The injury comes only weeks after Griner finished her junior season and the Lady Bears ended the first 40-win season in NCAA history with their second national championship. Griner was the first Baylor player to be named the AP women’s college basketball player of the year, and was also recognized as the top women’s player with the John R. Wooden Award.
