Van Dyke weds makeup artist, 40

Dick Van Dyke is a happy newlywed at age 86, his spokesman said Friday.

Van Dyke and makeup artist Arlene Silver, 40, were married last week in a small Leap Day ceremony at a Malibu, Calif., chapel near the actor’s home, publicist Bob Palmer said.

“I’ve never seen him happier. She adds a lot to his life,” he said, adding that the couple has much in common, including a love of singing.

Members of Silver’s family and some of Van Dyke’s close friends were on hand for the intimate wedding.

Silver and the stage, film and TV star became friends about five years ago after meeting at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Palmer said Friday.

Michelle Triola Marvin, Van Dyke’s partner of 30 years, died in October 2009 at age 76.

Van Dyke, who in addition had a longtime marriage that ended in divorce, has four children.

‘Money Makers’ crown goes to Swift

Taylor Swift is No. 1 again: The singer is the top act on Billboard’s “Money Makers” list.

Swift earned more than $35 million in 2011, according to the Billboard list released Friday. U2 was second with $32 million. Kenny Chesney, Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne rounded out the top 5.

Artists’ rankings were based on U.S. income sources from tours, albums sales and publishing royalties.

Adele was 10th on the list. Though she canceled most of her U.S. tour due to issues with her vocal cords, her album “21” sold more than 5 million units in 2011.

Round three for Quaid ends in split

Actor Dennis Quaid’s third wife has filed for divorce, saying the couple’s seven-year marriage has “become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities.”

Kimberly Buffington-Quaid filed a petition this month in Travis County, Texas. Representatives for Quaid confirmed the split, saying a “satisfactory settlement is being worked out for both parties.”

The couple have twins Zoe and Thomas, born in 2007. Quaid previously married and divorced actresses P. J. Soles and Meg Ryan.

The couple married in 2004.
