Education Notebook: Cheney FBLA group takes home prizes

Cheney High’s Future Business Leaders of America are seen at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in San Antonio. The Cheney High School Future Business Leaders of America shared their business smarts at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in San Antonio June 27 through July 3. The group came home with a number of awards and prizes.

Junior Sarah Oakes finished second in the nation in Digital Design, the highest ever for a Cheney member. She won $600. Eric Barrio finished third in Computer Game and Simulation Programming. Barrio was awarded $300. Hayden Gerstenkorn took fifth place in Database Design and was awarded $100.

Working as a team, Casey Barsness, Josh Bradley and Austin Mitchell placed fifth in Network Design. And, Will Hein received eighth in Computer Problem Solving.

Also competing for Cheney are Samee Silvieus and Jackson Spencer in Management Information Systems; Michelle Frantilla in Electronic Career Portfolio; Alanah Hesseltine in Web Site Design; Kendra Kendall in Spreadsheet Applications; and Jade McCauley in Database Design.
