Obituary: Gosselin, George A.

GOSSELIN, George A.

(Age 103) November 2, 1909 to December 17, 2012 George Alphonse Gosselin transitioned into the next spiritual realm the morning of December 17, 2012 in Gold Canyon, Arizona at the age of 103.

George is survived by four of his five children: Clifford J.

(Arleen) Gosselin, Gold Canyon, AZ; George J. Gosselin, Carson City, NV; Vondalee G. (Pat) Miller, Spokane, WA; and James V. (Joan) Rice, Huntley, IL; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the world.

George was born in Minneapolis, MN and homesteaded with his parents in Miles City, MT in the early 1900’s.

He married Geretta Violet Levens in Minneapolis in 1935.

His varied careers included ranching, trailriding, breaking saddle horses at Fort Keogh MT, and carpentry.

However, George was best known for his fine home building in and around Spokane Washington, his long time home where he raised his family.

George fulfilled one of his many “bucket list” wishes by going for a short horseback ride in 2012.

He had a passion for dancing, especially the schottische, polka and waltz; so much so, he was out dancing the week before his death.

A Memorial Service will be held in the spring in Spokane and his ashes will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery where his wife Geretta and son Glen Anthony are interred.

Memorials may be made to Morning Star Boys Ranch, Immaculate Heart Retreat House or The Day Out for the Blind of Spokane.
