She enjoyed academics, baseball and basketball with her team winning the city championship.
She came to love Jesus in her teen years and began a long life of faithful service.
At age 26, she fell in love with Rev.
Herbert Anderson when he traveled through Western Canada for evangelistic meetings.
They were soon married and she returned with him to Spokane.
They served Christ through a life of service to people starting the Welcome House, a homey setting for active military personnel passing through Spokane during WWII.
They went on to pastor eight churches.
Mabel is remembered for her deep love for family and her many friends.
She invested her 96 years of life fully and faithfully and passed away surrounded by family on December 10, 2012.
She leaves behind a daughter, Marjean (Richard) Goheen of Tacoma; and three sons: Merritt (Cena) of Mill Valley, CA, Doug (Zhe Han) of Martinez, CA and Don, of Spokane; as well as eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 22 at 2 PM at Garland Avenue Alliance Church, 2011 W. Garland.
