City callous to seniors
As seniors who have worked in Spokane for many years, supporting the city and its projects, we are saddened to be facing what the city leaders want to do to us now that we are seniors. Our senior center (Sinto) has been threatened with a 33 percent cut, Hillyard is to have an 8 percent cut, and the rest of the centers aren’t facing cuts. This will take the heart out of our center, while others aren’t affected. This is not fair at all to seniors who have been paying taxes for years! Make the cuts in some of the parks and golf courses.
Remember, you too will be in our shoes someday, and some younger group will be trying to cut the programs you have.
