(Evers)
(Age 96)

Passed away August 8, 2012 in Spokane, WA formerly of Almira, WA.

She was the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Campbell) Evers and was born on August 23, 1915 in Almira.

She graduated from Almira High School 1934 and attended Cheney Normal (now EWU) where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in education in August of 1939.

She taught first and second grade children starting in Peshastian, WA and in Almira and continued teaching until 1975, she continued to live in Almira until 1989 when she moved to Spokane where she lived until she passed away.

During those 32 years she started over 400 six-year-olds on their road to success.

Her passions were family first and travel second.

She was a former member of the Blind Springs Grange, Almira Rebekah Lodge, Almira Community Church, and was active in the Corbin Community Center, South Hill Sr. Center and the Spokane Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Deborah (David) Bonjouklian, Sandra Zacher, Tamera Evers, Pam (Robert) Torrell, Ted (Georgianne) Evers, Charles “Chuck” (Willa) Evers, Ken (Tammy) Evers, numerous great-nieces and nephews and her brother Homer (Shirley) Evers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth Evers and sister Dorothy Randall.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Almira Community Church, Almira, WA with Pastor Paul McArthur, officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Almira Cemetery Association.
