Homes in danger: Jeff Kehoe, owner of Kehoe Construction, sprays water on the roof of a home Tuesday in Medical Lake. Kehoe was passing by the home when he noticed flames from a nearby fire encroaching. “I told the owners to grab a hose, I’ve got the ladder,” he said. Although flames burned to within a few feet of some homes and structures, the fire bypassed them as it charred about five acres, authorities said. About 20 homes were ordered evacuated and several roads closed until fire crews got the blaze under control.
